What is Auricular Therapy?
Auricular Therapy is another therapy that has evolved from Ancient China. It is based on the theory that the ear is a microsystem of the entire body and the shape of the ear encapsulates an inverted embryo. As a result many symptoms and illnesses can be relieved and/or treated by stimulation of the ear. The ears can also help to aid the diagnostic process.
How Does It Work?
Auricular therapy can be used as a stand alone treatment or in combination with body acupuncture. Using very fine needles, these can be inserted into the external ear to enhance your treatment. This may be combined with the application of ear seeds that remain on the ear post treatment. These are small seeds applied with surgical tape on to the ear points. With light stimulation (acupressure) to the ear seeds the point can receive further stimulation away from the therapy room, prolonging the benefits.
