What Is Cupping Therapy?
Cupping is a therapy in which a vacuumed cup is placed onto the affected area or any part of the body for treatment purposes.This treatment is predominantly used to disperse stagnation and expel pathogenic factors from the surface layers of the body in order to promote the circulation of the blood and the Qi.
Cupping has been found to affect the body up to 4 inches into the tissues, causing tissues to release toxins, activate the lymphatic system, help activate and clear veins, arteries and capillaries, stimulate the skin, clear stretch marks and improve the blood circulation.
How Does It Work?
The cupping mechanism exerts suction pressure on the surface of the body and increases blood flow to inside the cup areas and stimulates muscle tissue, and a vacuum is created.
Massage Cupping is effective on muscular skeletal problems. It works opposite to traditional pressure, as it is downwards, whereas the cups lifts tissues away from the body. This suction allows the above to work, so therefore when incorporated into a soft tissue treatment, all adhesions can be cleared, to allow the body to move more freely.
